Being Wrong Can Be Costly!
What if you are wrong and the Bible is True?
The Bible says:
Psalm 12:6, “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”
Psalm 119:142, “Thy righteousness is an everlasting
righteousness, and thy law is truth.”
The Bible declares itself to be the pure Word of God, and I’ll take God’s Word over man’s word any time.
Romans 3:4, “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar...”
What if you are wrong and there is a literal hell where Christ-rejecting sinners go after they die?
The Bible says:
Luke 16:22-23, “...the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”
Mark 9:43-44, “And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
What if you are wrong and you cannot live good enough
to go to heaven?
The Bible Says:
Romans 3:10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”
Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Isaiah 64:6, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.”
God’s Word plainly teaches that man cannot live good enough to merit heaven.
What if you are wrong and Jesus is the only way to heaven?
The Bible says:
Acts 4:12, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
I Timothy 2:5, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”
I John 5:12, “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”
The Word of God teaches that there is only one way that man can get to heaven, and that is through the Lord Jesus Christ.
We began by asking the question, “What if you are wrong?” The facts of the matter are:
1. You are wrong if you disagree with the Word of God.
2. God’s Word is always right, regardless of what anyone thinks.
3. If you fail to believe and act upon the truths revealed to you in the Word of God, then you will be the world’s greatest fool and spend eternity in hell.
4. The decision is entirely up to you!
You trust the physician’s medical journals, the attorney’s legal books, and the accountant’s financial ledger, so is it not reasonable to think that one should trust the Bible, God’s Word, when it comes to spiritual matters?
Will you believe God’s Word and be saved today?
1. Believe you are a sinner:
Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
2. Believe the consequences of sin:
Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
3. Believe you cannot save yourself:
Romans 3:20, “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
4. Believe God provided the way:
Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
5. Believe you must repent:
Luke 13:3, “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
6. Believe you must place faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to save you:
Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
