Are you 100% sure that if you died today, you would go to Heaven?
(If not, please read carefully…)
There are 4 things you must know…
1. We Have All Sinned - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23) Nobody is perfect. We are all sinners by nature & choice. Can you imagine if God videoed your entire life (thoughts, deeds, actions) and played it on nation-wide T.V.? Are you a sinner?
2. We Have a Penalty for Our Sin - “For the wages of sin is death;” (Romans 6:23a) Sin must be paid for. God says the payment is death. Jesus said there are 2 deaths:
(1) Physical Death - God already knows the day we will die. We can’t avoid it only prepare for it. Death never sends a notice.
(2) Spiritual Death - If we die unforgiven of our sins, we will go to Hell forever (by the way, Hell was not created for people but for the devil and demons). God doesn’t want anyone to go to Hell. He loves you! “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b)
Do you like Christmas and your birthday? You enjoy GIFTS, don’t you? God sent Jesus as His free gift to us so we could receive Him and one day live in heaven forever.
A gift can’t be brought or earned. It can only be received. Forgiveness does not come through baptism, church, or good deeds. It only comes through receiving Jesus once and for all as a GIFT into your heart by faith.
Yes, Jesus did die for everyone—but not every person is going to heaven—only those who receive Him. We either receive or reject Jesus. So, a gift is not our gift until we take it. There is no in-between. No one is born with Him in their lives. He is a gentleman and won’t come into our heart until
invited. So, if you paid for your own sin, where would you
have to go?
3. We Can Have the Savior - “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) God came to earth in a human body. His name was Jesus. God chose to let Jesus pay for our sins by taking our place on the cross. He was spit upon, whipped, beard plucked, and crucified. He took your place—became your substitute. He loves you. He died, was buried, and arose after 3 days and is in heaven making room for you. If you were the only sinner in the world, Jesus would have died just for you. He loves you! Has there ever been a definite time, place, & day when Jesus came into your heart forever once & for all?
To be honest, most people have never done that. If it’s ever happened to you, you’d remember it! Do you? If you were to die unforgiven as you are where does the Bible say you'd go? Is that what you want?
4. We Can Be Forgiven Now - “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(Romans 10:13) How do you get Him into your heart? Just ask. Because He is a gift, all you have to do is receive Him one time. If Jesus was willing to take you just as you are, wouldn’t you be willing to take Him, ‘just as He is’? Just ask Him now…
Make This Your Own Prayer
Dear Jesus, I know I’ve sinned and I’m sorry. Save me from Hell. Take me to Heaven when I die. I trust you now to be my Savior. Please come into my heart. Amen.
