The Jews call it Golgotha, the place of the skull. The Greeks call it “Calvary.” There, Jesus was made to be sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. It was there he bore our sorrows and our griefs. It was there with his stripes we are healed. It was there they crucified him.
Dear Friend,
Have you ever considered that God will one day judge you for your sins? Did you know that as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this, the judgment?
The Bible says, “be sure your sin will find you out.” that, “the wages of sin is death,” and the eternal punishment for sin is the Lake of fire.
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8).
However, Jesus Christ came to earth as the lamb of God to take away the sin of the world. He came that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly.
Romans 5:8 says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
The Roman soldiers led him outside the walls of Jerusalem to a hill called Golgotha, which is Calvary, the place of the skull. They drove the nails into his hands and feet.
Every wrong thing you have done with your hands, Jesus paid the price for those sins when those nails were driven into his hands. Every place you went that you should not have, Jesus, paid the price for your sins with the nails in his feet.
They scourged him with a whip called the cat-of-nine-tails with over 40 lashes. The cords would wrap around his head and face. They plucked out his beard and smote his eyes and mouth. For every wrong thing you have looked at, every lie you have told, every curse word you have said,
Jesus paid the price for those sins. A crown of thorns on his head paid the price for every wrong thought you ever had. He was bruised for our iniquities, and with his stripes, we are healed.
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).
Because we were born in sin and “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”, Jesus said “Ye must be born again.” That new birth is a spiritual birth. Jesus Christ paid the price for your sins on Calvary, was buried, and three days after rose from the grave, taking death captive. He now offers salvation to all that call upon him.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10).
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
My friend if God is stirring your heart, then call upon Him while He is near and receive his gift of salvation and eternal life right now. Bow your head and ask God to forgive you of your sins and save your lost soul. He will save you the instant you turn to him.
