He is not here!
No, of course, the Lord Jesus Christ is not on the cross. He is also not in the grave. This man, Christ Jesus, is alive today in the body of flesh and bones in which He was crucified and buried. (See Luke 24:34-43) He is in Heaven (“...Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.” - Colossians 3:1 “...who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;” - Hebrews 8:1) and He offers eternal life to all who will receive Him as Savior.
Eternal life is not found in religion, in the worship of any object, or any creed or morality. Eternal life is found only in this man, the Lord Jesus Christ, the virgin-born God-man.
THE LORD JESUS IS THE RIGHT MAN
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
“Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:” (Acts 13:38)
“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” (I John 5:11)
THE LORD JESUS IS THE RISEN MAN
He died at Calvary to bear your sins: “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree (the cross)....”
(I Peter 2:24)
He arose from the dead and is in Heaven today: “...he was buried, and that he rose again the third day....” (1 Corinthians 15:4) “When he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” (Hebrews 1:3)
The risen Lord wants to forgive your sins and give you eternal life (salvation).
THE LORD JESUS IS THE RECEIVED MAN
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:12)
You cannot receive Him by taking communion or by being baptized. You receive Him by faith. It is an act of your will. Just tell Him now, in your own words, that you take Him to be your Lord and Savior. When you do that —when you turn from your sins and receive Him— you have Him, and when you have Him, you have eternal life!
“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (I John 5:12).
