It is true. The central message of the entire Bible is found in John 3:16. Jesus
said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
God loves us, not because of who we are, but in spite of who we are. We are sinners.
Below are the 10 Commandments of God. (Exodus 20:1-17) If you are able to keep
all these Commandments perfectly, you are in good shape. You do not need a Savior.
As Jesus said, “If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.” (Matthew 19:17)
1) Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.
3) Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.
4) Remember the sabbath day.
5) Honor thy father and thy mother.
6) Thou shalt not kill.
7) Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8) Thou shalt not steal.
9) Thou shalt not bear false witness.
10) Thou shalt not covet.
The sad fact is, however, none of us have kept the Commandments. We have broken
them all in either thought, word, or deed. The following Scriptures expand on these
Ten Commandments:
1. Matthew 10:37-39; Mark 12:28-34; Acts 14:6-18; Revelation 22:8, 9
2. I Chronicles 16:25,26; Jeremiah 1:16; Ezekiel 14:3; I Corinthians 10:14; I John 5:21
3. Psalm 99:3; Jeremiah 10:6; Ezekiel 36:20-23; Philippians 2:9-11; James 2:6, 7
4. Numbers 15:32-36; Isaiah 58:13; I Corinthians 16:2; Revelation 1:10
5. Matthew 15:1-6; Ephesians 6:1-3
6. Matthew 5:21, 22; I John 3:14,15
7. Matthew 5:27, 28; I Corinthians 6:18; James 1:13-15
8. Ephesians 4:28
9. Genesis 3:4; Acts 5:1-11; Colossians 3:9
10. Mark 10:17-31; Romans 7:7; 13:8-10; James 2:10, 11
We all stand guilty before a Holy God. “Now we know that what things soever the
law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and
all the world may become guilty before God…For all have sinned, and come short of the
glory of God;” (Romans 3:19, 23)
The punishment for our sin is death and eternal separation from God in a place called
the lake of fire which was originally prepared for the devil and his angels. (Romans
6:23; Luke 16:19-31; Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:42-48; Revelation 14:9-11, 20:10-15)
NEVERTHELESS, GOD STILL LOVES YOU!!
He sent his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to die in your place as an atonement for
your sin.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) It is true, friend, GOD STILL
LOVES YOU and offers you full and free salvation.
This is the good news of the gospel. “…Christ died for
our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was
buried, and that he rose again the third day according
to the scriptures:” (I Corinthians 15:3,4)
The conditions to salvation are repentance and
faith. (Acts 17:30, II Corinthians 7:10, Romans
5:1, Ephesians 2:8,9) As you turn to Jesus, you
simultaneously turn from sin. The greatest sin of all
is the rejection of this marvelous love of God that
was displayed for us on the cross of the Lord Jesus
Christ. (John 3:16-21; Hebrews 10:26-31)
Here is the promise of God in His Holy Word: “That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised
him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…For whosoever
shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
(Romans 10:9, 13)
As the commercials say, “This is a limited time offer.”
Death is coming for all of us. “And as it is appointed
unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”
(Hebrews 9:27) “Wherefore, as the Holy Ghost saith,
To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.”
(Hebrews 3:7, 8) Delay no longer!! Right now, as you
read this gospel tract, if you want to be forgiven,
saved, and have a place secured for you in heaven,
pray a prayer something like this:
“Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I
deserve to go to hell. I am sorry for my sin. I believe that
Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and rose again
from the dead. Come into my heart, LORD Jesus and save
me. I am trusting in you, and in your blood, as my only
hope of salvation. Take me, Lord Jesus, I am yours.”
Friend, IT IS THAT SIMPLE. Take God at His Word.
