This tract is a wonderful tract to hand out during the Christmas season. It speaks of each character in the Christmas story, and how God used them in spite of their imperfections. A great salvation plan, as well as a great encouragement to other Christians!

“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise....” Matthew 1:18
God wants us to notice the details of how Christ came into the world. Our verse uses the words “on this wise.” These words are translated from one original word. That same original word is also found in John 3:16, where it says, “For God so loved the world.” Just as we are to note how God loves sinners, we are to note how Jesus was born.
You are very familiar with the characters of Christmas, what an unlikely roster of players God selected to be in the Christmas Story. Each character could have made an excuse as to why God would not use them, but His love and grace overcome any apparent excuse.
Zachariah and Elisabeth were too old to be used, but God did. They were “well stricken in years....” - Luke 1:7 Being older is not an excuse for not serving Christ.
Mary was too young to serve God. She was probably a teenager. Imagine God entrusting His Son’s coming to a teenager! Being young is not an excuse.
Joseph was too self-conscious to be used. What would people think of him? Yet, God used him.
The Shepherds were too busy to be used. They had to tend the flocks and could not leave the sheep. Yet God still included them in the Christmas Story.
The Wise Men were too educated to be used. Many intellectuals struggle to believe the Bible. The Magi did, and God used them.
A baby is too helpless and weak to be used. The Bible says, “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies....” - Ps. 8:2 God says in II Corinthians 12:9, “...My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness....”
Sin makes us useless to God, but He has grace for that. “For by grace are ye saved through faith....” - Ephesians 2:8 Jesus is God’s grace gift. He came to save you from your sin. It begins by you receiving Jesus not as a baby, but as your Savior. Only God can save sinners. You “...have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” - Romans 3:23 You cannot save yourself. The angel said, “...he shall save his people from their sins....” - Matthew 1:21
Jesus Christ came to die to pay for your sins. “In (Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sin....” - Ephesians 1:7 Right now, by faith, receive Jesus as your Savior.
Each of these Christmas Characters could have made an excuse not to be used by Him? Are you making excuses? Each of them was part of the family of God. Are you a part of the family?
